MAC VAN WIELINGEN
Mac is a founder and director of ARC Financial Corp., a founder and former Chair of ARC Resources Ltd, and former Chairman of Alberta Investment Management Corporation. He is also founder and Chairman of Viewpoint Group, a private family-owned company, as well as Chairman of Viewpoint Investment Partners, and President of Viewpoint Foundation, a private charitable foundation. In addition, he is a past director of numerous other companies within the energy sector, and is active in various capacities in the community and the not-for-profit sector. Mr. Van Wielingen is a co-founder and Chair of the Canadian Centre for Advanced Leadership at the Haskayne School of Business. He is an Honours’ graduate of the Ivey School of Business in finance and has also studied post graduate economics at Harvard University.
Geoff Cumming
Geoff has 30 years of experience in the investment business with the Royal Bank of Canada, Peters & Co., Gardiner Capital, and his own investment company, Emerald Capital. He has significant international financial experience. He has had substantial experience in private equity investments in Canada and internationally, in a variety of industries. Mr. Cumming holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with Honours from the University of Calgary and a Master of
Science in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
MICHAEL Kanovsky
Michael is Founder and President of Sky Energy Corp., a private energy and investment company. Mr. Kanovsky is a director of Devon Energy Corporation, Bonavista Petroleum Ltd., and Pure Technologies Ltd. He previously served as a founding director of Northstar Energy Corporation, ARC Resources Ltd., and Seven Generations Energy Ltd., and was a past director of TransAlta Corporation and Precision Drilling Inc. He also sits on the Advisory Board of the Ivey School of Business. Mr. Kanovsky holds a Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours in Mechanical Engineering from Queen's University and a Masters of Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business, and is a Professional Engineer.
Phil swift
Phil is a founder and director of ARC Financial, and provides leadership support to the executive team in the areas of internal governance, corporate development, and investment decision-making. He brings over 20 years of experience prior to founding ARC in 1989, including as Vice-President and Director at a major Canadian investment dealer. He was the President and Chief Executive Officer of ARC from 1997 to 2003, originated ARC’s private equity investing activities in 1990, and played a key leadership role in ARC’s private equity business. Mr. Swift holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Math from the University of British Columbia. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia, and acts as a director for a number of philanthropic organizations.
Guy turcotte
Guy is currently the sole shareholder in Stone Creek Resorts, which owns two major real estate developments in Alberta and British Columbia. He is also a founding shareholder of Field Upgrading Limited, a Calgary-based company applying new materials and processes to upgrading oil. Previously, he was the founder of three energy companies: Chauvco Resources Ltd., Western Oil Sands Inc., and Veresen Inc. Mr. Turcotte is an engineer with a strong
record of value creation in the energy sector. After receiving a diploma in Gas Technology (Honours), he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering with Honours and holds a Master of Business Administration.
